CASSP training workshops are held throughout California. Each volunteer training workshop focuses upon the archaeological and historical resources at the host agency. But the structure of the workshops is consistent from place to place. You may take the volunteer training at one location, and join an existing team of volunteer site stewards at another location that is closer to home.
For each workshop, the Saturday classroom session starts at 9:00 and ends at 4:30 to 5:00. Lunch is provided. For the Sunday field session we assemble at 9:00 at the classroom location to carpool for the field trip, which ends at mid-afternoon.
(updated January 2020) A CASSP volunteer training workshop will be held for the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office and the Lassen National Forest at their office building in Susanville. The dates will be arranged later. Please send an e-mail to the CASSP coordinators, Karen Lacy or Michael DeGiovine, if you want to be included in the list of people to receive an e-mail when new workshops are announced.
We thank the BLM California State Office for their continued support of site preservation through public participation in CASSP
